VP Binay Named as UP’s 2011 Most Distinguished Alumnus

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) has chosen the second most powerful man in the country as its most distinguished alumnus for 2011.

Vice-President Jejomar Binay will be given the award during a ceremony on June 25.

The awards are given to all UP alumni who greatly contributed to the country, the university and the advancement of the vision of the association.

VP Binay graduated in UP Diliman in 1962 with a degree in Political Science.  He also studied law at the same university graduating in 1967.
Other Awardees are Araceli Limcaco-Dans (painter), Corazon Generoso-Iñigo (teacher), Baldomero Olivera (scientist) and Corazon Generoso-Iñigo (teacher); all receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award).

The association is also giving special mementos to service awardees and to all those distinguished alumni on specific fields.
