Military Veteran Insists Apology from Soulja Boy

Soulja Boy’s new song “Let’s Be Real” started controversy this week almost as soon as it was released. According to reports, this is due to the rather offensive lyrics of the rap.

“F**k the FBI and the army troops … fighting for what? Be your own man …
… I’ll be flying through the clouds with green like I’m Peter Pan.”

In a report by TMZ, Fred A. Flores, the commissioner for the L.A. County Veteran’s Advisory Commission who also happens to be a retired Marine reacted to these lines and demanded an apology from the rapper.

“It’s a very offensive statement … especially with the 10th anniversary of 9/11 coming up.

“He should apologize to ALL armed forces.”

“[The rap] is very irresponsible especially for a person who is an entertainer for the youth of our country,” Flores said.

As of now, Soulja Boy’s camp still hasn’t released any statement with regard to the issue.
