Nadal defeats Federer in Australian open Semifinals

The rivalry between two tennis players, world number two Rafael Nadal and seeded number three Roger Federer amazed the crowd at the semifinals of the Australian Open as Nadal overpowered Federer, in the score of 6-7, 6-2, 7-6, 6-4.

Nadal’s victory extended up to 18-9 in his matchup with Federer. The 10-time Grand Slam champ can’t believe that he made it to the finals, due to his foot injury in the past few days.

“If you tell me that two Sundays ago, I really cannot imagine,” said Nadal. “For me, it’s a dream to be back in a final of the Australian Open.”

Nadal and Federer once face each other in the Australian Open Finals in 2009 in which Nadal defeated the 16-time Grand Slam champion in the breath taking five sets.

Nadal’s next opponent would possibly be defending champion and world number one Novak Djokovic or fourth seed Andy Murray.
