Although some people say that WBA super welterweight champion Miguel Cotto will not win against WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., Cotto’s camp believe that they will dominate this coming Sunday.
According to Cotto’s coach Pedro Diaz, Mayweather is a good fighter; however, they are not convinced on his wins in the ring.
In a report, Diaz said that winning in a boxing match isn’t earned with words but it can be measured by the skills of a boxer.
He also said that tactics and preparation is the key to be successful in the ring just like what he and Cotto are doing during training.
“Floyd is a good fighter, but you can’t win in the rings with words. You win with your hands. Words do not win any boxing match. Your hands do the talking. I’m not impressed with Mayweather. He is a good fighter like anyone else who has two hands. I do not believe in favoritism. I believe in good hands, good preparation and good tactics. We looked at good videos, which is necessary to detect the weaknesses of the opponent, and people will see the result on May 5,” Diaz said.
The Cotto-Mayweather fight will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.
