Even though Bianca Gonzalez made a public apology, reports say former actress Amelia Fuentes will still file libel complaints against the TV host.
According to an interview, Fuentes stated that she appreciates Bianca’s public apology; however, it doesn’t mean that she will bring the charges to an end due to irresponsible journalism is wrong.
Fuentes sued the TV host over her “Love, Laughter & Intrigues” article where Fuentes’s name was reportedly brought up in Gonzalez’s column in The Philippine Star, which was published earlier this year.
“Dapat she should be more responsible than the usual. Dahil hindi naman niya ako kilala and I’ve been out of the limelight for so long. I felt demeaned na isusulat niya ‘yong ako sinagawan ni Annabelle Rama,” said Amalia.
Apparently, Fuentes added that she wants to challenge the TV host to a debate about a certain topic.
“Like you, I studied in the States for six years. I will debate with you on any topic because ang balita ko sa kanya, masyado siyang mayabang, na magaling siya, na matalino siya… If you don’t want any more libel suits, please mag-ano siya sa tao, if she wanted to name me, she should have called me first. Because number one, it is a lie, a big lie,” Amalia added.
Gonzalez stated earlier that she wants this issue to be resolved in a good way and also said that she highly respects Fuentes.
“Once again I had no bad intention whatsoever and I also hope na ma-resolve ito and I respect so much ‘yung opinion ni Ms. Amalia,” the TV host stated. “Yung artikulo ko basically ay feature column, so ang column na ‘yon ay love story ni Tita Annabelle at Tito Eddie. Eh si Tita Annabelle kapag nagkwento siya ay very candid so nalagay ko ang isang direct quote at I think ito ‘yung naging basis nitong (libel case).”
