Timothy Bradley’s Split Decision Win Stuns Boxing Writers

Bradley promised to shock the world, but it was the result of the fight coming from the judges scorecard that shocked the world.

After 12 rounds of boxing, with everyone already sure of Pacquiao win despite not putting Timothy Bradley to sleep, the ring announcer read the scorecards with the following results: Jerry Roth115-113 for Pacquiao, C.J. Ross and Duane Ford115-113 for Bradley.

And the undefeated American boxer has kept his record clean in total disbelief and became the new WBO welterweight champion.  But Bradley was brought during the post conference in a wheelchair (Check Bradley in a wheelchair photo here:)

But the result was not welcomed at all with everyone in total disbelief.

For boxing writers and media observers, Pacquiao was trailing ahead on points with most of them giving Bradley only 2-3 rounds.

Major networks and sports websites like CNBC, Yahoo! BBC, USA Today posted the same result in a favor of a unanimous win for Pacquiao.

From the American news networks like the USA Today, to the Daily Telegraph, BBC, the saw the result in favor of Manny Pacquiao.

Associated Press for one scored the fight in favor of Manny Paquiao 117-111.  Veteran boxing writer of AP Tim Dahlberg said of the result to be “the biggest shock came from the judges’ scorecards.”

Dan Rafael of ESPN posted his views on Twitter saying:

“Presser is over. Sense of disbelief by everyone here. This wasn’t arguing a close fight. This was outrageous.”

Pacquiao received the result in total disbelief but nonetheless he said that he respects the decision.

A November rematch is the most logical thing that will happen, and Pacquiao promised that this time around, he will not let the decision come from the judges but from his puches.
