After Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum confirmed that the negotiations in Pacquiao-Mayweather fight resumed, the American boxer stated his interest regarding the match.
Mayweather seemingly praised the Filipino boxing icon and said that he is looking forward to face Pacquiao in the near future.
“I think Pacquiao’s an unbelievable fighter and hopefully we can make the fight happen in the future,” Mayweather said.
If ever the fight negotiation is settled, the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight would possibly happen on April 2013.
Initially, Arum reportedly said that Manny Pacquiao will issue a decision this week regarding his next opponent in November 10.
Previously, Pacquiao, Mike Koncz and Arum had a meeting here in the Philippines to decide on who will be boxer’s next opponent.
“Decision on the opponent will be made by the end of the week,” said Arum.
Besides Floyd, Top Rank also considers a rematch against Timothy Bradley, Miguel Cotto, or a part IV rematch versus Juan Manuel Marquez.
Bradley previously defeated Pacquiao in a controversial split decision in June.
