Rain or Shine wins First PBA Title

Rain or Shine Elasto Painters manages to claim the throne against B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados in Philippine Basketball Association on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Elasto Painters defeated B-Meg in the breath-taking Game 7 winner-take-all PBA Governor’s Cup Finals with the score of 83-76.

Rain or Shine manages to succeed even though Rookie of the Year Paul Lee went down in game 2 due to a shoulder injury.

It is the first time for Rain or Shine to win their franchise championship title after six years in the PBA.

Elasto Painters’ import Jamelle Cornley led the game scoring with 20 points and 14 rebounds along with Jeff Chan with 11.6 points and three rebounds and while Gabe Norwood contributed 15 points.

On the other hand, B-Meg’s James Yap scored 23 points during the series while Marcus Blakely contributed 15 points and Peter June Simon with 11 points.

Jeff Chan was awarded as the Finals MVP.
