The production of Iron Man 3 shut down temporarily after Robert Downey Jr. was wounded during the filming.
According to a report, the Iron Man star had an ankle injury while performing a stunt during the movie shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina.
“There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he (Robert Downey) recuperates,” according to the statement of Marvel Studios.
Meanwhile, the actor’s spokesperson told the press that Downey will be all right, and also added that the “Iron Man 3″ team is waiting to see how soon it will take for him to recover.
Recently, the 47-year old actor is filming a lot of his own stunts for the movie instead of relying on a double.
Iron Man 3 also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall and Guy Pearce.
Information regarding the plot still remains a secret.
Apparently, the film’s third sequel was said to be taken from the comic book’s famous Extremis storyline, wherein a scientist makes a drug that gives people superpowers.
Iron Man 3 will be available in movie theaters on May 3, 2013.
