APO Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes, who is very vocal on current events in the country and active on social networking sites especially on Twitter, reacts on Senator Tito Sotto’s plagiarism issue on some parts of his speech regarding his stand against the Reproductive Health Bill.
According to a report, Paredes thinks that Sotto is ridiculed by many because he remains to defend himself despite of his mistakes. He apparently thinks that the critics were not insulting the senator, but are just being honest on correcting him.
It was said that Sotto copied the last part of his speech from US Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and then translated it to Filipino.
“And he shouldn’t take issue when people say mali siya dun. Hindi siya iniinsulto, sinasabi lang na mali siya. I’m not making fun of him. Kasi yung sinasabi niya, binababoy daw siya, inaapi siya ng ano… hindi, hindi siya sina-cyber bully. Pinagtatawanan siya kasi pinaninindigan niya yung mali,” Paredes’ thoughts on Sen. Sotto’s Plagiarism issue.
On the other hand, actress and the senator’s daughter Ciara Sotto defends his father concerning the issue against him.
According to Ciara, no matter what the senator is involved in, she will continue to admire him because he remains firm despite of the criticisms. However, the actress asks his father’s critics to refrain from being rude to him just because of his stand against the RH Bill.
